ABOUT THE CLASSIC

On June 26th, 2016, we invite you to come play baseball with one of America's legends: Charlie Hustle. The Classic is a 1959 reenactement of a baseball game played by Charlie Hustle's Western Hills High School, organized by a small group of baseball fans. The game celebrates the legendary prowess a young Charlie Hustle exhibited during his youth on the very field he used. The game will occur immediately after Cincinnati retires #14, forever.

GAME SPONSORED BY:

The Classic is organized by The Charlie Hustle Homestead Project, an initiative to preserve and honor the area surrounding Charlie Hustle's boyhood home, in Anderson Ferry, Ohio.  A traveling museum of artifacts associated with Charlie Hustle's life will begin an international tour, with its first stop in New York City in August 20th through September 11th, 2016.

THE GAME

On June 26th, the same day the Cincinnati baseball club retired #14, we met at Boldface Playground, to play a game between the Western Hills Mustangs and the Wyoming Cowboys. It was a blast from the past!

THE TEAM

We need some players, umpires, coaches and fans. All are welcome to play, but we hope you contribute to fund 1950's era equipment. We are looking for uniform sponsors, or before you play, you can purchase your replica uniform, glove or hat to support the cause. Please sign up above.

THE HOMESTEAD

This is part of a project to support the establishment of the Charlie Hustle Homestead. A group of fans are interested in preserving the land surrounding Charlie Hustle's childhood home and erecting a permanent monument to his accomplishments.

THE MUSEUM

A replica of Charlie Hustle's home will start traveling the U.S. in the Fall of 2016. Please sponsor an artifact or purchase the editioned art at our museum shop so Charlie Hustle can be celebrated around the world. Soon, there will be more information about the traveling exhibition.
